David

You have to move back here before you can share our pain; having an attack vicariously through your Canadian spouse doesn't count.

However, I am going to the BIG game tonight: Czech Republic vs Latvia. Do I cheer for Jagr's hair, or do I try and learn Latvian by tonight?

Not memorabilia. But I went to Atlanta 1996 by myself (nobody I knew wanted to go) and picked up the Bronze medal game of Baseball. Figured it would be Japan and someone else. Well the US unexpectedly lost to Japan and I found myself seeing the US and Nicaragua - a suddenly hot ticket. Decided against the easy profit and went to the game.

Walked into the stadium and found my section. The usher directed me to my seat.......I kept walking down......and found myself a few rows above the US dugout. Couldn't believe the view, must have been the only one to buy a single ticket in awhile.

Also saw Michael Johnson's amazing 200-meter run. Place went crazy singing "Living in America". Also Dan O'Brien's Decathlon win. Great memories for a lousy $400 total.

I don't have any old Olympic stuff, but I found this a few months ago at a garage sale, on the "Free Stuff" table. It is the 96 schedule poster for LSU baseball with the olympic coach Skip Bertman and olympic player, Warren Morris (who later that year had the GREATEST moment in CWS history). The poster was signed when I found it:

Plus I have this gold medal from the 1983 International Special Olympics held at LSU. I was in high school at that time, and helped work the olympics:
