Breathtaking, Rob....

I can't think of anything to say that would do justice to that magnificent Jersey. So I am at a loss for words as well....

Rob...

Here's a possible companion display piece for your Jersey. It is pretty stunning and is so big, it was a real challenge to photograph. Since the final year listed on the photo is 1908, I believe this is a 1909 vintage Cubs piece (same year as your Steinfeldt Flannel).

Of the five known "Yard of the National Game" variations, this one is perhaps the most imposing (with two team panoramas contained within!) I was not looking to sell/trade, but perhaps it fits your needs better than mine right now.

Please just drop me an email if you have any potential interest in a sale/trade.

Congrats again!
Mark

ps. The whiteness on the left side is just reflective glare (and is not on the photo)

Mark-
With the presence of Lew Richie and Harry McIntire - your version of "Yard of the National Game" has to be 1910 or later. You should be able to date it from the players present.

Any board members want to venture a guess at value of Rob's jersey? Rob could probably charge people $200 each just to try it on. Now I want to see if I can find a photo of Steinfeldt wearing it.

Default We haven't had a post here since Feb of last year...

so I thought I'd bring it back and see what's new for Cub/Sox collectors.

1930 was of course Hack's monster season. A season that basically carried him into the Hall. Here is a 1930 Wilson TYPE 1 by the legendary Charles Conlon...

Thank you for all your kind words. As a longtime Cubs "game used" collector, this piece blew me away when the guy first showed it to me. Never in a million years did I think I'd ever own anything of this significance. Mark, if you get a chance, drop me a note...that's one cool piece! Thanks again for all the feedback...I really enjoy sharing this stuff with those who appreciate it as much as I do.

Best,

Rob

Rob- I saw a 1905 McGinnity jersey in person a few years ago but it did not have the look of the Steinfeldt, that is something else!
