Nice pickup and this has always been one of my favorites as well!
FYI- Alot of people don't know this, but this game was never played on
July 4th, 1941. I think that perhaps weather prevented it from happening on the day it was originally scheduled. The game and speech actually occured the next day on July 5th. The Yankees beat the Philadelphia A's 10-5 behind lots of Bronx Bomber offense, great pitching by Red Ruffing and let's face it, a ton of inspiration from The Iron Horse.
