Default Hi Al...

Hi Al,

I set up at a small show in Martinez this morning and a guy had some really nice Giants memoribilia (Mays nodder, 60's Stadium Club china, etc) and he had this button as well. Just a lucky find!

Default What not to do with 1911 Silks

This is my latest acquisition. Someone made a pillow out of 1911 S74 Silks and most are worn but very cool item I put in shadowbox for display.

Zinn Beck letter while secretary for the Winston-Salem Twins. The Clemson player he mentions(misspelled the name) is Winston Holliday, whose grandson is now a Federal prosecutor in Columbia.(and also a CU alum.)

Here is one I got today. A birthday present for myself.
It's #64 out of 96 for the set.

Big thanks to David McDonald(Kawika).

Default four pickups

eBay's been dry for a while...but I did P/U a couple items of their recently...a 1890 Yale Yearbook with Amos Alnzo Stagg pictured on the FB team (and Heffelfinger)...also a cool U. Penn little girl football print, 11 1/2" circumference round

Then p/u this poster last Sunday at a show...which I once wrote a story on, see here

Then yesterday...wow...I walked into an antiques store and found the 10" diamenter c1898 childerns book "Freddy's Football" seen below...last page is seperated and the binding is loose...but never seen it before...For the most part it's bloody English...but it's marked EP Dutton New York....AND Ernest Nester London...but I can tell it's English..nevertheless it's rare and killer I think... like a McLoughlin book...estimate $600.00 at a rare book show in nice condition....in this condition, $200.00-$300.00....paid $20.00!!!

Default 1948-49 Mabley and Carew Reds

Here are a few Mabley and Carew Reds from 1948 and 1949. I've included a folder that the Johnny Vandermeer came in. The other guys are Harry Walker, Kent Peterson and Ken Raffensberger. Each photo has the same stamp you see on a Reds team issued photos. If anybody can tell me more about these photos, I'd appreciate it ...

Thanks Mike and Matt. Mike, 15 was Gene Clines. Some great Pirates collectors gave me a lifetime of information on these jerseys in the last couple of days and I'm much appreciative.

Khkco4bls, I'll email you privately about the Spalding bats.
