Funny you should ask that!!
 This drawing was done when I was 7 or 8, I think. My brother ended up buying one of those baseball player address books, and Nettles was the first person I ever sent anything to. I fully intended on just giving him the drawing to keep, but he sent it back autographed, along with two signed postcards. What a guy!! I think someday, I'll end up doing something of him. I think I just need the right image. There's a great shot of him standing on the field looking at the scoreboard in Yankee Stadium, the night after Munson's funeral, though that painting would be more about Thurman...
