I have a t206 question for those who are in the know. What is the story with the Murr'y variation? I looked it up in the t206 museum and it mentions it is indeed a variation and is only found with the Lenox back? Is this true, I have never really heard much about it, unlike the "nodgrss and shappe" variations that seem to pop up now and again. Is there a value on the Murray floating around? |

seems like the printing plate was damaged, much like "nodgrass"...a small piece of the top of the "A" in Murray is still visiable, and looks like an apostrophy (Barry-spelling?)...even though i owned an authentic "nodgrass" years ago (1st one graded by PSA, then later sold in Leland's)...i am NOT a huge fan of these "prinitng freaks"...and that is all they are...they are NOT recognized by most collectors (and grading companies) as actual cards needed to complete a set...they are very cool & rare, don't get me wrong...but i would rather pursue other cards, that's just me... |

will grading companies grade them "normally"? In other words, will they only get an authentic, or will they receive the actual grade they are worth? |

I noticed a few months ago that PSA stopped listing the Shappe variation in their pop report. I am not sure what that means to the 4 that were previously graded as such. I have sent some "no B's" in to psa and they were graded as the regular cards even though they were listed as variations on the submission. I have been planing to call PSA to clarify their [position on these variations. Will post when I find out. |

I'll try one bump to see if anyone has some insight into this variation from personal experience or has seen one along the way. |

I have seen three of the T206 Murr'y, portrait variations over the years. All had Lenox backs. I believe that Alan Hager discovered this variation in the early 1990's. |

I searched some old posts and it appears there was a Murr'y offered on ebay with an old mill back? Does anyone remember that auction? Have there been any other backs confirmed with this front? |
