Are you sure it was an Exhibit card? I cant think of a horizontal Cobb Exhibit. But there are horizontal Postcards of Cobb, like the PC773-2 H.M. Taylor Cobb, among others. |

might be the Wolverine News Cobb he's referring to. Aren't there two Cobb poses in that set, portrait and horizontal batting? |

Sorry, I meant the Key Taylor PC when I said Wolverine News. Is this the one you're referring to? (scan from the vintageball website). |

The PC773-3 Wolverine News cards are similar in design (different caption style) to the PC773-2 Taylor. And like the Taylor the only ID of who printed it is a small credit line on the left side of the postcard back. |

No wonder...... the Canadian V100's are much smaller than an Exhibit or Postcard. They are out there, but it may take time before you see one on eBay. Thats cool you figured out the card issue, now it may be tough to locate one for sale. |

I've always liked that Willard Cobb because of the trees in the background. Where in the world was this thing taken? He's in uniform, but can't tell if it's the official Detroit uniform. |

Joanne, Possible that it's Augusta. When the Peach took control of the Tigers reins in 1921, he moved Spring Camp (no leaves on the branches) from TX back home to Georgia. Paul, it is a terrific photo and card. |

The main difference between the V100 and the Taylor PC is age. The V100 is from 1923 closer to the end of Cobbs career, and the Taylor like the other Detroit Postcard issues (Dietsche, Wolverine) are sometimes considered Cobbs rookie card (1907-09). |

Cobb's 1921 Exhibit uses the same picture as his V100 along with a few other early 20s caramel issues. One of the smaller auction houses sold off the original photo used for the shot. A board member now owns it. |

FKW, i think that both the exhibit and the v100 are cool cards...i must of confused them since its the same swing, but i was thinking of the v100 since it is horizontal...thats one of my "things", cool horizontals |
