Default 1963 Topps Mets (!)

This is in the "or even 4" category, but still pretty good for an early Met team:

Richie Ashburn
Casey Stengel
Gil Hodges
Duke Snider

One of my favorite Tiger trivia questions is to name the year and the 5 hall of famers who started and batted in a row on opening day.

2. Mickey Cochrane
3. Charley Gehringer
4. Hank Greenberg
5. Al Simmons
6. Goose Goslin

Sadly, this didn't last long as Greenberg re-fractured his wrist and Cochrane suffered a nervous breakdown. But it's the only year in history where Detroit had 5 hall of famers on its team.

The 1936 version of the Diamond Star set has a card for each, with the Simmons card in blue ink depicting him as a Tiger.

Oh man I had the Yankee 9 in post 22 for 1931 but forgot they all continued into 1933 and all had cards. Unapproachable record.

1933 Goudey also gets you the Cardinals with 6: Vance, Frisch, Haines, Hornsby, Durocher, Dean

I don't collect the 20's but there is probably a 1920's set with a lot of Giants HOFers, from the Frisch veterans committee corruption inducting all his teammates. Frisch, Kelly, Jackson, Wilson, Youngs, Terry, Southworth, Lindstrom were on the team in 1924 for 1 example, Bancroft was there 1921-1923, McGraw was still managing into the 30's.

Ashburn has a 1963 Topps Card so 4 is correct for 63 Topps cards of Mets who later made the HOF
