7 Indians in 1949 will be really hard to beat.
Another 4 batch, 1939 Play Ball - Ruffing, DiMaggio, Dickey, Gomez on the Yankees, in a fairly small set. If I may be forgiven for a 3 reference, 1948 Bowman has a fairly young Schoendienst, Musial and Slaughter as 3 of the 4 Cardinals (the other being Marty Marion who received a significant number of HOF votes for many years) in the small 48 card set. What a great grouping of players for such a small multi-team set. Got to be up there for per-card-talent-in-a-team-in-1-set. |
