1950 Detroit Tigers Postcard with a bit of hobby history on the back. July 7, 1950 (postally stamped with Washington DC Sesquicentennial 3c stamp). Postal Cancel: "HIRE THE HANDICAPPED IT'S GOOD BUSINESS".

Addressed to Joe Cronin 301 W. Ayer St. Ironwood, Mich. (Not the contemporary Boston Red Sox player)

This Joe Cronin worked for the Sacramento Kings as the Team Historian. This postcard would have been from when he was about 12.

Dear Joe, We would be glad to have as a member of "Baseball's Best" (______ _____) Fan Club. Our dues are $1.00 per year. This entitles you to a membership card, picture, + club journals. You will be contacted by mail concerning all club activities. I will send you our next journal along with your cards. Sincerely, __________ __________."

Sender's Name is redacted with graphite, but I might be able to erase it since the writing is in pen.

1) Identify the player?
2) Identify the set? Cardstock is thin and lightly glossy, with a printed postcard back.
3) Are the words in the parenthesis "Pierce Wertz" or "Price Thirty" or something else?
4) Has anyone else seen other postcards for this Baseball's Best Fan Club of 1950 before? Maybe you can identify the sender.
