Nice card! I would guess that the corner broke of this card at some point due to the condition sensitivity of this issue…they are paper thin. After the break it likely re-rounded over time before being submitted for grading. Many 1914 CJs have small or even large breaks / chips.

Old slab, but I've always thought in general that prewar gets preferential treatment in mid-low grade over postwar. For example, you will see many slabs of T206 cards and especially older flips where a card that is given a 5 will have corners way more rounded than what would typically be allowed on a postwar 5. I've never understood this.

I would guess a short period of time.
