Just wondering how does the Chantilly show compare with the Philly Show? I wont be able to get to Philly, but I think Chantilly.

I have never been to Chantilly; however, the Philly Show is local for me and I've been there many times.

In the past, it has taken up the entire basement floor of a rather large hotel/casino. Think of a square city block with regard to space. Ordinarily, there are hundreds of dealers and easily 1,000 plus people.

It's a big show.

This time around, it's in the same venue. I don't know how the recent pandemic will impact attendance. If I'm reading the tea leaves correctly, though, it will be well attended. Southeastern PA has a large collector base, and the people are likely to show up in large numbers.

The Philly Show has been for decades the best vintage show other than the National and maybe one or two others a year, has survived a rough patch recently, but seems to be on a strong comeback. With the virus lull, I think this one will be quite exciting on many fronts. I'm bringing a carload of stuff to blow out (make that sell) to dealers and place in auctions, and I think there's going to be a lot of that. Dealers should have quite an accumulation of inventory on their tables. The dealer list reads like the National's. The Chantilly Show has been a favorite of mine as a dealer/collector for many years because it's a half hour from my house and the only decent D.C./Baltimore show since the 1990s, but it's an autograph show with a few vintage dealers--I do the floor in about 20 minutes now--whereas the Philly Show is a real old school card show. This one's not to be missed, I think there will be a real buzz there.
