The Philly Show is back
I received the following email from East Coast Sports Marketing:
"The Philly Show is back and will be operating at FULL CAPACITY June 11-13, 2021- we've missed you all and can't wait to see you back at the show! We are offering special SNEAK PEEK tickets for Friday, June 11th. Sneak Peek admission will allow you entry to the show at 1:00pm on Friday! Tickets are available for purchase on our website and general admission day tickets can be upgraded at the door the day of the show. We are also excited to be able to offer AUTOGRAPH GUESTS at this show! Greg Luzinski, Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson, Darius Slay Jr. and Bill Bergey will all be signing at the show and we plan to announce more guests in the near future. This lineup will be smaller than our usual lineups as we return to action but we are excited to return to public signings! Athlete tickets will go on sale end of day on Tuesday, May 11th. Thank you all for staying with us throughout the past year and we can't wait to get back to the show!" |
Great news! It looks like Chantilly is back on, too, for the end of May. Now if everybody would just do what's good for them and others and get the shots that are becoming easily available, we can all get back to normal in a month or two. No excuses anymore.

I live less than 30 minutes away. I'll definitely be there. |

Chantilly might be rough going against the Dallas show this May.
Philly should be great though. Feb 2020 was the last show before the industry changed. |
Out of curiosity, will there be any Net54 members set up at the Philly Show? If so, please leave a post here. I wouldn't mind dropping by your table and saying, "hi."

Guess that means I'll be with Howard :) Tom Botticelli is with us as well.

Not to bump an older thread, but finalized my plans for Philly. Any dealers to specifically check out? I'm already going to stop by and see ted!
I'm Looking forward to running into anyone from here! |
I'm looking forward to going. Planning on spending a few hours that Saturday walking the room. Hoping the market continues to come back to Earth a bit prior. Was watching some Youtube videos of the Dallas show and it sounds like the turnout there was nuts.
|
Ill be there that Saturday.
Hope for a better selection than Chantilly. |
Exciting news !!

Howard Chasser and I are booth 710 on the main aisle.

After I believe 14 years of not doing a show I will be setting up.. a lot easier when you live on the East Coast and no longer in Hawaii.

Hi James Looking forward to seeing you. Dan McKee and I will be set up at booth #412. We hope to see many of you at the Philly Show (June 11 - 13). TED Z T206 Reference . |
Am I the only one not comfortable going back to shows yet? Everyone touching the same stuff, crammed in close at the tables, no masks. I dunno I feel it’s too soon and with prices likely to be exceeding high I doubt I’ll be missing much.

Back to topic, I am happy to have the Philly Show back and will no doubt do one in the future. Their advertising on our forum is very much appreciated too! . |
Great news the Philly show is ready to rock. It is one I remember well. Any news from the Windy City about the National's status, or I may be well behind the times here
|
My son moved to Easton PA about a year ago. I'm actually gonna be up there visiting the weekend of the show. First time to see his place as I just started flying again since Covid. It's a 1.5 hour drive but my son said we might make it happen:)
|
Just wondering how does the Chantilly show compare with the Philly Show? I wont be able to get to Philly, but I think Chantilly.

In the past, it has taken up the entire basement floor of a rather large hotel/casino. Think of a square city block with regard to space. Ordinarily, there are hundreds of dealers and easily 1,000 plus people. It's a big show. This time around, it's in the same venue. I don't know how the recent pandemic will impact attendance. If I'm reading the tea leaves correctly, though, it will be well attended. Southeastern PA has a large collector base, and the people are likely to show up in large numbers. |
The Philly Show has been for decades the best vintage show other than the National and maybe one or two others a year, has survived a rough patch recently, but seems to be on a strong comeback. With the virus lull, I think this one will be quite exciting on many fronts. I'm bringing a carload of stuff to blow out (make that sell) to dealers and place in auctions, and I think there's going to be a lot of that. Dealers should have quite an accumulation of inventory on their tables. The dealer list reads like the National's. The Chantilly Show has been a favorite of mine as a dealer/collector for many years because it's a half hour from my house and the only decent D.C./Baltimore show since the 1990s, but it's an autograph show with a few vintage dealers--I do the floor in about 20 minutes now--whereas the Philly Show is a real old school card show. This one's not to be missed, I think there will be a real buzz there.
