Frankly, it just seemed like everyone was a bit trigger happy this go-around (myself included - I got way too attached to a Wild Bill Donovan and went 15% higher than I had targeted). Lots of cards going for a good chunk healthier than recent comps.
Might be people spending their end of year bonuses, might be new collectors starting to move into vintage, could be speculators on the high end. I suppose the upcoming Heritage lots and the February block will show if this is a blip or the beginning of a sustained uptrend.
