I'd have to think that the Orioles are getting very close to just eating that money and letting him go. As already has been mentioned, it's as bad or worse then having a horrible hitting pitcher in that spot every game for 3 or 4 at bats. If the Orioles have any illusions of competing in the American League, that's not going to cut it for them.
Have somebody else pick him up to a minor league contract and see if he can possibly work his way back........which I imagine is a long shot at this point. There's slumps..............and then there's SLUUUUUUMPS! He's been nearly worthless for 2+ seasons now.
