I asked mears about this when is was listed in goldin. I asked how can you tell it was game used by Mickey Mantle and not a pro stock/team index bat. Troys reply was " I don't believe we addressed team index or personal order."
So I asked goldin auctions at the time how they determined Mickey Mantle used the bat and they replied back saying "not much to say it's a broken piece of the bat that sold about three years ago on mears auctions as a "game used bat Barrel" I can't believe someone would pay that much for something like that. And also maybe it now gives people who fake stuff another route to go. Just break off the handle and people will still give it a LOA as game used.
