I agree, that EPDG Blackburne looks worse than many 6s. No way if you or I crack that out of that holder and send it to PSA, it comes back an 8 again.

Also

how is this a PSA 7? isnt that staining and a wrinkle at the top

http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...e?itemid=39478

and this a PSA 6?

http://bid.robertedwardauctions.com/...e?itemid=39476

nice cards, but grading of t206s does not seem very consistent by PSA. The Walter Johnson PSA 7 is a great card, but seems more like a 6.

You are absolutely right. The Rucker PSA 7 Pied 42 has a very noticable crease or wrinkle at the top of the card. I'm just wondering if all these cards belong to the same owner??? Just saying, these cards are way off....

Well, now I have now spent the last 3 hours perusing the REA catalogue, and now am feeling a bit faint and think I need to lie down. If this is Rob's final REA auction before he rides off into the sunset towards whatever, then I think
it will be a blockbuster. Wow! John

Pete- you never cease to amaze me. Even with all of the past sales results, you want to go on and on about SGC, and rag PSA...Why? Even PSA can make grading mistakes, but the one good thing, they are at least in PSA holders. Nothing like selling PSA 7 T206 commons for $700-750, and settling for selling SGC 84 T206 commons for $400-450. What exactly is it? Did Joe O. beat you up at school??

Kevin...go suck an egg!

Why don't I like PSA?

Because historically they overgrade cards.

Why else?

Because they've been implicated with fraud and sketchy behavior in the hobby.

Why else? Because they started their venture knowingly overgrading an altered card that is the emblem of the hobby.

I don't give a f$ck about resale...I am a collector first and foremost.

Over grade cards? Are you actually saying that with a straight face? Have you seen the recent SGC graded T206s that have been flooding the market in the last several months?

I have never heard of a 7 with a wrinkle before. Does any one know if it is possible for a wrinkle to re-appear after its been removed? Perhaps that is what happened in this case.

yup...it is possible...a good indication said card may have been tampered with at some point.

A scary thought for those with high grade big money cards if true. I know there are those who think a lot of the vintage 8s 9s and 10s had a little help along the way. I would hate to spend 5 or 6 figures on a great looking card only to find a wrinkle or stain suddenly appear down the road. I wonder if the psa or sgc guarantee would apply in such a case.

I've seen 8s with noticeable wrinkles. I doubt they were missed, more likely they reappeared.
