They do exist... Just obviously not this guy.

He obviously learned from his past experience of trying to sell a card at 25% of its value.

I would only assume he will get booted.

Hopefully you didnt send the money via friends/family.

Do you have any recourse if you sent money via friends/family? I have never tried to cancel a transaction of this type before.

I would just get on the phone with PayPal asap. From what I understand, it's like handing someone cash and there's an old saying that "possession in 9/10ths of the law".

Is $550 for a pretty bad 3 '54 Aaron too good to be true? I thought it was a little low but not at a "steal" price.

I sent my payment Goods and Services and got the refund. I almost got scammed and can't help feeling like an idiot. I'm not to the point of wishing death on him and those he cares about but I hope the OP cuts his gums when he flosses and burns the roof of his mouth on breakfast.

Added: it seems that he might be in cahoots with ebitz.

again greed is how people get ripped off.....if people are fighting over a time stamp of who paid first...odds are the price is too good to be true...especially on a baseball card website.

added: how you know ebitz is in cahoots..you may be right but wondering how you know

also strange that the aaron is an SGC card...postwar..why so many postwar cards on net54 SGC? how many more PSA 1954s are there versus SGCs

I didn't think it was a bad '3'. It was nice and centered on the front. The price wasn't a super steal. It was low enough to draw interest, but not too low to raise a red flag (unlike the Chmaberlain rookie). It was priced at what it should bring on Ebay minus the fees. The only red flag I saw was the low post total.

I don't think this is such a case, especially since the potential buyer didn't see the chamberlain post. $550 is pretty close to the market value of the card. He wasn't exactly stealing it. A good example of why you don't send paypal ff unless you really know a seller.

i guess but you don't see many iconic cards on net54 with prices rising for clear below market price....at least the card is only a card in the 100s not 1000s..the fact there were 4 or 5 people jumping at the chance to buy and already a 'fight' on timestamp...pretty much shows too good to be true.....has there been any other thread this year where there was a poster pointing out a timestamp? (I really don't know ) if not..then the only one happens to involve seller fraud? guess a big coincidence...

First of I wanna say that I hope no one got ripped off and everyone gets their money back. I agree that $550 wasn't a steal, but it is a $700 card and $150 off a VERY popular HOF Rookie is as close a steal your gonna get. Also sending PP ff to a newbie is very risky.
