Default Lefty

I'm very happy to add this gorgeous 1931 vintage signed AP of HOF Lefty Grove. I've been waiting to find a really nice example of his sig and this one fit the bill perfectly.
What makes it extra cool is that in 1931 Lefty Grove won the MVP award and had what is most likely the greatest single season ever for a pitcher , he led the league in wins with an amazing 31-4 record and ERA 2.06.

You've gotta love Lefty's beautiful flowing signature in steel-tipped fountain pen.

This is precisely why I really hate modern athlete signatures. Their hand writing is so pathetic that it makes me cringe. Why wouldn't you rather collect vintage signatures? They are terrific to collect and look at...

Love that Grove....

As elegant as they come... Could you imagine if the years he spent dominating the international league where actually in the majors???

Awesome pick up Scott!

Just picked up this great Barnstormer sheet from a member. Love the history of this piece and that it contains Lefty O'Doul and a new addition to my HOF collection, Harry Heilmann.

Nice pickup, I always loved Heilmann's autograph (I assume he is new and not Lefty).

I had to save up for this one since you never see them surface. It is a definite keeper for the HOF collection.
