The name and team don't normally turn brown to black when scanned in my experience. I could be wrong and the scan darken only that part of the image but I wouldn't touch it.

Sometimes scanning in the document setting will do stuff like that. I've done it by accident and the results are really awful.
Of course when I do that I redo the scan and delete the bad one. I can't imagine using one that bad to sell anything, let alone anything valuable. Steve B
