7" tall Bareknuckle Boxer Statue
 Above, actuall 7" tall size, (depending on your monitor) Guess C1880 Picked up this little statue of a bareknuckle boxer off eBay yesterday. I've never seen anything like it before! The seller thought it was Bendigo W.Thompson but a cursory search didn't convince me...Once I get it in hand I'll try to solve who it is. The facial features are so distinct I think it was intended to depict some famous boxer...probably from the bareknuckle era. It's coming from England and it looks very English to me. I suppose I could have the patina reapplied...but I think the wear is worth it's weight in gold...in that you know for sure from that kind of wear it's old. I'd prefer it that way as opposed to wondering .
