The major baseball equipment manufacturers commonly signed players to contracts while they were still in the minors. Even the minor league players had their gloves custom made to their directions. I have a lot of players glove contracts and commonly the player wrote directly on the contract contract the specifications and models of the gloves they wanted. Interestingly, part of 1930s Red Sox player Dale Alexander's contract includes him receiving golf balls. |
