Day 366 – 31 December 2024 - My Last Post for 2024!!!
Can you believe this is day 366? Writing about something every day for 2024 about the Baltimore Orioles and my favorite player, Brooks Robinson has been a lot of fun. It has also been a lot of work and a little dedication. I enjoyed the research and learning more about the Orioles and Brooksie. I made a few mistakes that were pointed out but that is to be expected I guess. During the year, I learned a lot from many of you and made some new virtual friends and found some new items. I am sure I will miss doing this daily but promise to keep posting…I hope that is ok. Anyway, on this last day, I decided to show you my Brooks Robinson PSA Master Set since I have referenced it a “few times.” This set has been my passion for many years and I am proud to say it is 100% complete but remains #2. The #1 set is based on quality. My set has a quality score of 7.27 and the #1 set has a quality score of 8.04. The #1 set is missing at least 12 items. The set includes 308 mandatory items and about 10 optional items. The different items include baseball cards, pins, bottle caps, boxes, panels, discs, stamps, photos, test issues, items from different countries (Venezuela, Canada, and Japan), prints, post cards, discs, matches, paper cut outs, stickers, tattoos, rub offs, coins, and lids. The baseball cards dominate the set (about 175 items from different manufactures {Topps, Fleer, Leaf, Bazooka, etc.). My set includes about 135 items that are either highest graded or tied for highest graded. A few of my items are 1 of 1, meaning they are very rare and the only one graded. Some of the items range in cost from $10 to over $10,000. Some of the items could be worth more based on how rare they are and you simply can’t find them. I arranged the photos by size and years. You will notice the cards at the top, which are smaller from 1957 to 1978. The cards are from packs of baseball cards, hand cut from boxes or panels, and inserts to Topps packs. You then see the coins and pins followed by the Coca Cola Bottle Caps (Coke, Sprite, Fanta {Orange, Grape, Root Beer}, Tab, and Coca Cola King Size, and West Virginia Coca Cola. You then see some medium sized items followed by photos and larger sized items. The larger items are photos, box panels, prints, and boxes. I did a video and tried to go item by item. I watched it several times and each time I see / hear errors. Oh, well, I am not a film star or director. Enjoy the post and show us your items.
