No way to tell the type photo from the pics IMO. Blank back makes it difficult to tell the type unless in hand.
As to value, the personalization hurts but still probably $5-7K or maybe more in the right auction with very interested collectors. I always liked the personalized ones but the value is greatly affected. I recently had one that was a circa 1930 Type III personalized and graded 9 that I sold for $6500 to a dealer. I'm sure it will wind up in an auction at some time in the future but again it had a near perfect inscription and autograph. However, the "Babe" was pictured in boxing gear, not a baseball uniform. |
