Babe Ruth Auto - Type 1 Photo?

Hi all - first post here. Considering sending my Ruth auto in for slabbing and photo authentication. Anyone know if this could be a Type 1? I truly have no clue whatsoever. Currently graded a PSA 7 auto. Also, any idea on value? So much harder to get a ballpark than cards

No way to tell the type photo from the pics IMO. Blank back makes it difficult to tell the type unless in hand.

As to value, the personalization hurts but still probably $5-7K or maybe more in the right auction with very interested collectors.

I always liked the personalized ones but the value is greatly affected.

I recently had one that was a circa 1930 Type III personalized and graded 9 that I sold for $6500 to a dealer.

I'm sure it will wind up in an auction at some time in the future but again it had a near perfect inscription and autograph.

However, the "Babe" was pictured in boxing gear, not a baseball uniform.

The quality of the photo makes me doubt it is a Type I, but I am not an expert.

One thing you know (obviously) is that it is more than 75 years old...

Great insight, I really appreciate all the thought you put into it for me!

Firstly, it's a really cool photo and a nice piece. As an avid vintage signed photo collector and a huge Ruth collector, the personalization probably knocks the value in half.

Without the name written you'd looking easily over $10k, with it, your cap is probably $5-6k. Since you already have the LOA, the slabbing cost should be minimal, and definitely a worthwhile add for protection if nothing else.
