I guess I should have known when PSA eliminated qualifiers that top to bottom centering on Williams would prevent it from being higher than a 3 based on their 90/10 minimum? There are no creases or hidden wrinkles. I went through the card I don't know how many times. I am going to try to call PSA and confirm that it was only because of the top to bottom centering. Left to Right centering is pretty good.
With that being said how can PSA 3 that looks like it went through the wash be comparable to PSA 3 that is strictly due to centering? I thought for sure this would be a case where PSA would put a qualifier. My questions are: 1) Should I try to resubmit to PSA 2) submit to SGC? 3) If resubmitting should I leave in the case? I valued the card at $1,500 raw. Now I have spent nearly $200 with PSA to have it graded. Looking at recent sales on eBay prices are actually near where I wanted to be. I would be more than happy with $2,200 and I think mine is a lot nicer than a PSA 3 that sold on ebay for $2,200. I certainly think it is as nice as the SGC 4 that sold for $2k. Of course another PSA 3 sold for $1335 and that I wouldn't be happy with. Below are pictures for comparison. Last question is 4) What would reasonable value be if left as a PSA 3 vs if I sent to SGC and they graded it say a 5, which is what a comparable 1954 Bowman Campanella was just graded by SGC. Honestly I thought the Williams was nicer than the Campanella. My Williams that PSA graded a 3 ![]() ![]() Campanella that SGC just graded 5 ![]() ![]() SGC 3.5 $1885 ![]() PSA 3 $2200 ![]() ![]() PSA 3 $1300 ![]() ![]() SGC 4 $2,000 which is what I would hope to at worse get from SGC ![]() ![]() PSA 7 OC $2400 what I was hoping to get as a highest possible grade with OC qualifier from PSA. I figured at worst it would be a 5. ![]() ![]() Sent from my Pixel 4 XL using Tapatalk Last edited by capt14k; 02-10-2023 at 04:58 PM. |
