My hit ratio on auction house and Ebay offerings has hit an all-time low. I am currently batting about .110 and dropping. Unheard of prices are, of course, the reason the reason behind my dismal performance. During my long association with the hobby, I have worn many cloaks: kid collector, retail dealer and AH wholesaler. But I worry that at present the hobby has marginalized many would be collectors due to price fordability and driven out others whose pockets might not be so deep. That is why I value the B/S/T section of the board so highly; knowledgeable consignors, realistic pricing and potential for negotiation. I have bought from many members and never encountered a single problem, and most know the responsibility a listing brings. And Leon should be complemented for the fine job done to weed out the scammers....no easy task in this high tech age.
