In 2006 I bought a nice new red Kawasaki Ninja still in the box. Weirdly when I came back a few days later to pick it up they had thrown my box away and I got stuck with a motorcycle.
That was one of those better to ask for forgiveness than permission purchases.  I bought it on the way home from the airport from a trip to Europe. The wife left for China before I picked it up. So when she got back a few weeks later I already had it for a few weeks. Not sure why she tolerates me.
