As Mark and Jay already mentioned, this appraisal on AR is being quoted as insurance estimate, which is inflated a bit compared to auction prices because it takes into account the effort and cost it would take to find a replacement.
So if the insurance appraisal on the sweater is $75K, they are considering it would sell at auction for about $50K - $60K, which is probably on the mark or a bit conservative. Last edited by CW; 01-08-2019 at 06:43 PM.
