This is Penny. She's kind of a lap dog. She's also a humane society rescue.
 This is Max. Max is so dumb, he was once trapped for hours after a throw pillow fell on top of him. I'm not kidding. He's very sweet, though, which is breed-consistent. He's a long-term foster.  This is Merlin. Somebody dumped him on the street when he was a puppy, and my wife adopted him after he got taken to the vet hospital where she worked. He's my bud. He's 14, his face is whiter than in this picture (which isn't but a year or so old), he's down a gall bladder and some other parts after a surgery last December, his kidneys are failing, and he has the kind of gas that makes you want to claw your eyes out and Gorilla Glue your nostrils. But he's my bud.
