Joe D. 1936 Album Page
Got this really neat 1936 Album page with a rookie Joe Dimaggio on it...
The Ted Kleinhaus signature helps date the page to 1936 (Only year with the Yanks)... What I find to be real interesting about this one is that it has a bold (almost spiteful) E.V. Doc Painter signature directly below Joe's... [ATTACH88_joed_1.jpg[/ATTACH]Joe apparently sprained his ankle in the preseason... Doc was the team trainer and an early adopter of progressive rehabilitation techniques... Rather than Icing Joe's sprain, he stuck his leg in a diathermy machine which gave Joe 1 st degree burns on much of his ankle and foot... As a result he was out nearly a month and didn't make his debut until May 1936...
