August Autograph Pickups
Just got back from the National. It is true, if you can't find it at the national, it doesn't exist. It is also probably true-don't go to the National expecting to find a deal. Saw some beauties there including autographs of Oscar Charleston, Willie Keeler and Frank Chance-none of whom I could afford. However, did manage to pick this up

Very nice!

tazdmb . . . Nice pickup. If I may ask, which dealer did you pick it up from ? Was still negotiating with my boss (my wife) to sneak away for a day to attend the National this year, but then I noted that autograph dealer Ron Gordon (Las Cruces, NM) was not listed among the dealers setting up. Since Ron has consistantly come through for me at the National Show, with at least one item on my want list, it seems less necessary to attend. It is still a wonderous place to spend a day, but a much harder sell to the Mrs. |
I got if from Kevin Keating after searching for 2 years. I knew Kevin had it, but tried to find it cheaper from somewhere else-to no avail. I will say that Kevin did work with me, but he knows exactly what he has and charges with that in mind.
You can always do what I did to get the wife's permission-not tell her ;) I live near Detroit, so was able to get there and back in a day. |

I literally scooped up this Marquard within 10 minutes of being listed. I just could not let this beauty go, and now have two of this pose.
The Cuyler is a good filler until I get a signed '33 of his and the Frisch predates my PB I have of his. |

Got these two tonight. The baseball was a ball pitched to jeter on July 8th. Bought that Tuesday in Cleveland and was able to get jeter to sign it tonight.
He also signed my cervelli jersey from jeters 3000 hit game. |
Wow, how crazy was it trying to get Jeter to sign it?

Nationals
Had a productive day at Nats Park on Saturday before they slaughtered the Phillies 11-0. :D
Left to right, top to bottom: Tyler Clippard, Danny Espinosa, Scott Hairston, Anthony Rendon, Asdrupal Cabrera, Wilson Ramos, Danny Espinosa (again), Drew Storen, Tyler Clippard (again), former player/announcer F.P. Santangelo. http://www.t206blog.com/wp-content/u...ust-2-2014.jpg |
Nice haul ^^^^^

Did Jeter stop and sign outside the park?
Did he sign for everyone? Really curious, I kinda want to make the trip to Tampa and try in a week. |

J did another awesome job, seems like one of those deals when both made out well |
Dave,
I have seen your stuff on here for awhile and it is as impressive as it is artistically framed and appealing. You and your framer do a good job. |

Joe D. 1936 Album Page
2 Attachment(s)
Got this really neat 1936 Album page with a rookie Joe Dimaggio on it...
The Ted Kleinhaus signature helps date the page to 1936 (Only year with the Yanks)... What I find to be real interesting about this one is that it has a bold (almost spiteful) E.V. Doc Painter signature directly below Joe's... [ATTACHAttachment 155863[/ATTACH]Joe apparently sprained his ankle in the preseason... Doc was the team trainer and an early adopter of progressive rehabilitation techniques... Rather than Icing Joe's sprain, he stuck his leg in a diathermy machine which gave Joe 1 st degree burns on much of his ankle and foot... As a result he was out nearly a month and didn't make his debut until May 1936... Striking that these guys would be on the same page, never mind right next to each other |

Shouldn't have since Im dead broke, but don't care. Loved it because its VINTAGE, not the "card show special"
Busted it out of frame and mat that made it look "weird" under a scan... |

Willie Foster
Just got Willie Foster tho my scanner is down. Front page from the Bible with the 4 sigs. Puts me at 245 plus one set of initials (Effa Manley). Does that count? Miller Huggins should be on the way too. The rest are way above what I want to pay if they ever come up except for Turkey Stearnes
Passion though is signed cards and may be willing to trade Hanlon or Cooper for some amazing signed vintage HOFers on cards. |

Since I didn't want to spend a fortune on Foster myself, I have the last piece of the bible where Foster writes his son and wife's name, his son, also William foster, just has as diff. middle initial. l guess it's a technical issue when it comes to 'his' auto or not, but he pens William Foster, and for the price, it's good enough for me. Picked up Comiskey so I'm at 229. I'm pretty much done where I sit unless something incredible comes up.

The DiMaggio and Koufax are both JSA. The Mantle looks better then the scan. Yes I know PSA & JSA does not guarantee that they are real, but the person I picked them up from I trust.

Great win win trade with Jason.
Excuse the glare in the pictures |
Michael,
Wow. That is a great grouping. I have to wonder what Jason got in return. It must have been something special. Best, Mark |
