Really? I doubt it. Certainly not with anything that has the name "Ruth" or "Cobb" or "Wagner" in the ebay listing.

A few years ago, there was a very poorly categorized lot of cards that included the extremely rare AWH Caramel backs and a few HOF T206ers. The descriptions was something like "Lot of Old Baseball Cards" and it was mis-listed in something other than "baseball cards".

After the auction was over, this wound up being an almost "famous" lot which earned a lot of discussion. A number of AWH collectors found it even though it had been poorly listed and bid it up over $10,000. I learned from that that there are too many people who spend too much time looking for deals on ebay that they just don't happen anymore. It only takes 2 bidders to spoil the discount.

In fact, I defy anyone these days to find a valuable pre-war baseball card listed as an auction on ebay that sells for a fraction of its real market value.
