1860s CDV Pair...Civil War and Baseball
I'm a little late here to Gary's 19th C. party and want to catch up a bit with these CDV images. They represent the only pairing of images of the same subject in both his Civil War officers uniform AND an 1860s era base ball uniform that I have ever seen.
The images have the pencil notation of Claes Forsgard written in the same hand across both specimens, with the Civil War image also reflecting the c. 1864-1866 tax stamp. Both images are striking and I consider myself very fortunate to have them both as it took winning two different auctions to keep them together. Jonathan www.dugouttreasures.com
