1919 Cincinnati Reds Postcards - little help, please

I was contacted today by a prospective consignor who has 11 of the set of 24 of the 1919 Cincinnati Reds post cards. I have attached two pictures below. Also, I have attached a photo of one them that I pulled off of VCP. The VCP version shows that the front reads "Cincinnati Reds - Champions of National League 1919." On the photos of the postcards owned by our prospective consignor, the caption reads: "Cincinnati Reds - World Champion 1919." Any idea of why they do not match? Are some more rare than others (supposing there are two different varieties)?

The SCD Big book acknowledges the two versions, and speculates that the "World Champions" type is just a second printing (makes sense). It does not differentiate the two when determining value. Here's my only one:

It is my understanding (and experience) that National League ones are tougher.

He has 11 of them; they look like they'd grade between 4 and 6. SGC? or PSA?

Hi Mike,
The set was first issued after the Reds won the pennant. It was subsequently reissued after the world series, thus you have two versions. I have heard certainly claims that one issue is particularly more difficult than the other; however, as an active collector of the set, I do not share those sentiments. People often claim that the Daubert is a variation as the text is printed across the top of the card. However, every Daubert card I have seen is like this. [Anyone seen anything else like this?].

Not sure if we should sell them raw (and, if so, on Net54, as opposed to eBay) or if we should get them graded. Thoughts?

Hi Mike,
As always - graded cards "tend" to sell for a premium. Whether you should incur the cost is something you will ultimately have to answer for yourself. If you are selling privately to an active and knowledgeable collector, then they might not have any concerns with the grading process. As with most any issue, mid-grade cards such as these might not bring in significantly more dollars as you are a reputable dealer. This issue does not have any "key cards" and can be found with relative ease in the condition you have described.

Of course (regarding the grading). I just know that people on here are interested and because they are an odd size (postcard), I was essentially inquiring whether those interested would prefer them graded or ungraded -- probably a dumb question, now that I think of it!

Mike, I'm also an Adolfo Luque collector, and I was hoping that it would be part of the group.

There are 3-4 different types....

Besides the types you mentioned, they can be found with the name etc. at the top above the picture. I am not sure if it was just an accident and cut wrong, but they are out there (Ive owned 2). Im also not sure if both types can be found with the name at the top, the ones I had were "World's Champions".
