Arrow FT: Clemente-Mania...

Offered here are groups of different examples of cool Roberto Clemente cards for trade. My preference would be to get an equally-valued big name HOFer (Clemente, Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle, Sandy Koufax, Jackie Robinson, Ted Williams, etc.) that I need in return for one of these guys. There is also a list of things I am generally interested in posted below.

**I need to hold onto at least one of the 'best' of each grouping for my PC.**

If you have any questions or are interested in talking, please give me a shout.

1961 Topps #388 Roberto Clemente
With the batting cage providing a cool backdrop, and most likely taken during the Pirates' run to the 1960 World Series Championship, Roberto was intensely ready for his close-up, Mr. DeMille...

1965 Topps #160 Roberto Clemente
Wearing a face which is just daring you to try to take an extra base on him, #21 stays cool, calm and collected...

1966 East Hills #21 Roberto Clemente
(Luckily found another of these guys after trading one away.)
A jaunty, oversized, blank-backed regional issue. Two simple facts: the ones on eBay - graded or not - are extremely pricey, and virtually every one of them out there has the same 'slightly pushed to the bottom' centering. They came that way...

1969 Topps #50 Roberto Clemente
A truly awesome portrait of being primed to go. "Put me in, coach!!"
- The PSA 9 OC card to the right looks a tiny bit short top-to-bottom. You can find that same issue on many of these cards, so I have no reason to believe it's been trimmed, but want to point it out anyway. The scratchy area is on the case.
- Before it was graded, I started a thread about the SGC 6.5 card (with great centering BTW), because that is NOT a gum stain on front, it is just the way it was printed.

This pre-grading shot shows the lack of gum/wax residue on top of the gloss in that area of the SGC 6.5 card:

1971 Fleer World Series #69 1971 Pirates VS. Orioles - Roberto Clemente
Part of the extended series issued through Good Humor ice cream trucks during the summer of 1978, this card is the crown jewel of that set and remains a really tough get. I spent way too much picking up each one of these sharp-cornered beauties. Although obviously way OC, the middle one is a tiny bit better centered than it appears, because the plastic is obscuring a tad of the white on the left. As for value, again, check the crazy prices on eBay...

Note: I haven't put a specific dollar trade value on any of these cards. It's really just a case of determining (assuming I'm interested in the cards being offered) whether or not I'd be doing well enough on my end in accepting a trade proposal.

I am particularly interested in these:
• HOFers in nice shape from the 50's through early 70's (preferably graded, but open to cards in their natural state)
• Willie Mays, Hank Aaron, Mickey Mantle, Sandy Koufax, Jackie Robinson, Ted Williams, Roberto Clemente, Babe Ruth and Nolan Ryan cards
• 1971 Topps Greatest Moments
• Tough to find errors and variations from the 50's through the early 70's
• 1964 Topps Stand-Ups HOFers in nice shape
• 1961-67 Topps high numbers and SP's
• 1963 Fleer BB stars and HOFers in nice shape
• 1967 Laughlin World Series (with address on back) in nice shape
• Major HOFer rookie cards
• 1954 Bowman BB stars and HOFers in nice shape
• 1954 Red Heart BB (need virtually any in nice shape)
• And who knows what else?

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

If you look at the card, it appears to have residue from a slab of gum on it from Clemente's neck area to the right border. BUT...there is nothing atop the gloss. Nada. It is simply the way the card was printed (beneath the gloss). Truly bizarre!

Here are a couple of other shots showing how the gloss has nothing sitting on top of it...

I contacted SGC about it, and they told me (paraphrased) if it appeared to have a stain of some sort on it, the grader would use a loupe and other tools to investigate it further. And they, too, saw that there is no stain marring the card, so it got the pretty nice grade it deserved.
