Yup, tried his crap on me today. These people think we’re so stupid. I just looked at his profile and realized he joined TODAY. Yeah I’m good.

There should be a new piece of information collected by Leon when someone new wants to join.

The questionnaire should ask, "Do you have a stepdad with a nice card/memorabilia collection?"
If the 'yes' box is checked, you are outta here, scammer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

It’s the same guy over and over. Third time in the last week with almost the same message (stepdad, mate on Facebook, etc. with something I said I WTB on the BST).

The “ave” instead of “have” should ave been corrected by now!

I got a message from him that his stepdad "ave" the 1970 Topps Cloth Sticker Seaver, 1968 Topps pitching pose proof of Seaver, and the 1982 Fleer pitching pose proof of Seaver. Apparently, his stepdad has all three of these unique or nearly unique cards. It is amazing how bad the typing and spelling is for these scammers.

Figured it was time to tack on the 'stepfather ruse' to one of my 'Collectorisms'...

1176. Newbonic Plague
The pestilence of a bunch of newly joined members all coming out of the gates trying to scam people.

See also: Crocodile Dundeeviant - any of these new wave of scammers who oddly claim to hail from the ‘Land Down Under.’

See also: First-Cozener (also Bluffer-in-Law) - that fictitious, invented ‘relative’ of his that a swindler claims just happens to own the very card you’ve been searching for.

See also: Stepdadification - when one of these deceivers specifically pretends it is his adoptive father who possesses these wondrous baseball cards you seek.
