eBay Is Inept and Ineffective at Monitoring

Last night I reported a listing that is in violation of eBay's policies - a seller pawning off a counterfeit item that is being described as "Authentic." I have done this many, many, many times before, but this is the first time I received a reply from eBay. At first, I thought my report had made a difference, and that the listing would be taken down. But no! Instead, they decided that there was no merit to my report, even though it's an obvious reprint, and even states "reprint" right on the bottom of the reverse! I would prefer to think this is a one-off, and that they are normally far more effective at monitoring listing violations like this, as I have seen many removals in the past, but I'm not so sure any more. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

I am pretty confident that department is AI driven ie: dooesn't have a clue about reality. I have made reports like this one and always have gotten the in essence, "we investigated and don't see any issues". I don't know if reporting actually helps at all any longer.

I find it more infuriating when they remove listings of my extremely authentic autographs as being counterfeit. Who is making these judgment calls? I'll take my own knowledge of my offerings over the word of anyone else, thank you very much. It's of utmost personal concern and priority to not sell anything remotely questionable.

The material in question has always been of the rare, non-HOF type. Very few people are familiar enough with the subject matter to be playing judge, jury and executioner. I'd love to know whose word they are taking to have the items pulled. Please, have them call me personally and explain their reasoning. I'm all ears. I just relist the stuff shortly thereafter.

I still read the forums and send it to the right person at ebay to remove.
The account has also been put on notice.

Ebay is a comical joke for having bad listings removed now.... They just don't care. It was much better when they had the EMR program. I worked for them for about 6 years. I had a different set of screens when reporting fakes being passed as real or scumbags trying to steal from people with made up junk. never got paid, all free work but I enjoyed helping to keep the pre 1930 cards category clean. They canned me 1 day with no reason nor communication. I think Leon may have worked for them too for a while like this, we used to compare notes often.

I say I never received any payment but every Christmas I would get a gift from them and a Thank You letter. Best gift was a large Ebay blanket 1 year.

I did something similar pre-EMR in the autograph realm. Got a little tired of helping a multi-billion dollar operation without even being offered any money for my work. I brought up the crazy idea that I'd like to be compensated. "Oh, our legal team wouldn't like that idea...". I never talked to them again.
