When times get slow picking up more mainstream cards and memorabilia, I pick up some real picture post cards as a side project. They make a fun collectible and a cool snapshot of the past...sometimes they capture a young ballplayer, a local town team player, and even a team mascot.
Here are a few of them! Let's see some more RPPCs! Patrick |

One of my favorites and the only one I've ever seen. 1913 an incredible year in Big Trains career.
In 1913, Johnson was 36-7 with a 1.14 ERA. His WAR of 15.1 that season is the best single-season total for any pitcher in the modern era (post 1900). Johnson's 13.2 WAR in 1912 is second on that list. During his career, Johnson amassed 10 full seasons with a sub 2.00 ERA and completed 531 of his 666 career starts. In my opinion the greatest pitcher lifetime and if he had a good team behind him he would have surpassed Cy Young in the all time wins column. _ Last edited by Casey2296; 04-29-2021 at 06:41 PM. |

Cool card Phil...
Hard to argue with your logic on how great of a pitcher he was. Interesting story how his 1.14 ERA season included giving up a couple of BS runs on the last day. Believe he started the day in the CF, barring that inning of pitching he would have the best single season ERA of all time besting Gibson's 1.12... |

I look at that photo of your Gpa at the top of his game and think he could of won 50 that year. Last edited by Casey2296; 04-29-2021 at 09:36 PM. |

A couple RPPCs from the Cubs in the World Series. One of them has an actual bear Cub on the field! Wonder if they could get away with that now in today’s age.

I have a loose leaf folder filled with RPPC’s of local teams, factory teams etc. I feel they are a snap shot of history when barn storming was king and baseball was America’s Game. Things were simpler than. I think these PC’s are as important to the history of the game as any card of a major league player.

I couldn't agree more. I think I have pared my holdings down to 200-300 of my favorite ones. ![]()

I really like these, too. Just some team players in a horse and wagon with their ladies.
