Default -16 today.

Saying "good morning" from beautiful, downtown, Boscobel, Wisconsin, where the temperature is a brisk 16 degrees below zero, not counting the wind chill. Thank heaven that the wind is light.

Frank, being a former Wisconsin resident now living in California, you are probably extremely jealous of me this morning.

My wife gave me a bottle of wine for Valentine's day. I am tempted to spend the day drinking wine and sitting by the fireplace. This is the kind of day that i stay inside and spend too much money on eBay and the BST.

Rick

It is hard to get motivated when it is that cold. At least I am retired and not out carrying mail.

The only thing I don’t miss from days at Madison are the -10+ days. You Wisconsin people are tough.

I didn't mind the cold. It was the 95 degree days that were tough.

Are you carrying mail today?

Yeah, the heat is always worse than the cold. It's easier to get warmer, but impossible to get cooler out there. Yes, I'll be out shortly. It's been a mild winter here in northern NJ. 30s today.

-7 degrees in beautiful Lake Geneva, Wisconsin this morning.

Lake Geneva is a resort town just over the Illinois/Wisconsin border that draws nearly every person that lives in and around the Chicago area to its cramped shoreline and chachkie-filled shops year round. I actually think this cold weather will keep the tourists away today which means the locals finally have the run of the town.....at least for one day.

Gawd it's warmer in Western Canada.

I grew up in KC and lived most of my 55 years there, with the hottest days and coldest days. Now I live in Laguna Niguel where we had a winter storm last week with light rain and 50 degrees. Hang in there, summer will be on the way for all of you in the cold. I do miss the big spring storms.

We were a cool 14 degrees here in W MI along the lake shore. Lake Michigan is a beautiful thing, helps keep us a little warmer in the winter and a little cooler in the summer.

Sounds like the response I got one time from someone from Gunnison, CO when asked "What do you do in the summer?"

The answer was "If it falls on a weekend, we'll go fishing."

It is a balmy 31 degrees today. I may go to the beach, although the water is still covered by ice. Which brings up the age old question - does water float?

It's actually been in the 50s and windy in the mornings this week. Quite cold for around here. Back in WI that sould have been shorts and t-shirt weather in January or February.

All your degrees are belong to us.

It's been a very wet couple of weeks her in central MD, but so far this entire winter no snow to speak of. We had 3-4 inches one day and by the next morning it was gone. My back is happy for no shoveling, but it just seems weird.

I took a few minutes for the hot water in my shower to kick in, prior to that I was freezing...

-16 is a bit on the chilly side. Big D has had mostly a mild winter so far. (knock on wood)

I have several bird feeders in my back yard. It was -6 this morning when I filled the feeders, but the birds are very active when the weather is this cold, and right now my back yard has 30-50 birds, with several varieties, that are feeding, in addition to 12-14 squirrels.

So, the Wisconsin winters aren't all bad. That is what I keep telling myself anyway.
