I couldn't see a big enough picture of the one you linked to, to really comment, but the following Net 54 discussion involves the only other numerically-graded 150 back that I could find, and it looks like the bottom was trimmed, meaning possibly hand-cut: Net 54 discussion of slabbed 150 Plank

Scott,

That Plank has a story all of it's own, it's seen a couple of different homes and holders. Referring to the PSA 3 in the old thread.

I'm surprised, but it only costs him five cents to keep re-listing it. By the time it reaches $29K in market value and someone bites, he may have lost 120 or so nickels on 30-day auctions.

Agreed. In my opinion, the T206 Plank is one that will go up faster than inflation. I had planned to offer this guy $23K in April, so nice to know that would have been a waste of time.

I think he should keep his car and not compete with me for a cheap pos Plank.

I mean no disrespect Mr. Vezina, but each time I read your posts, I can't help but think of Denis Lemieux.

Jerk !! You are just jealous you can't afford a Plank! And so am I !! In all serious seller might have done you a favor not accepting offer, but at same time I think the next one to hit market in a 2 or 3 is gonna go good $$. Someone mentioned rea was gonna have a couple and that will be soon, could always call them to find out so save your $$$ and get ready!!

J, I am real jealous. Of course, I know that is your dream card. Change your name to IWANTAPLANK206FOREVER!
Vezina, I couldn't even attempt your language, so you're doing great in my eyes! I hope you can appreciate Slapshot!

Here's another numerically graded 150 back.

I was the underbidder on it back in 2006 on ebay, at $16,100

Steve, this Plank was sold raw at a Hunt's Auction Louisville slugger museum. See the bottom edge, it is trimmed in my opinion and I believe Hunt sold it correctly as trimmed at the time. Dan.

Thanks Dan.

I was going through my old scans, and have a couple from 2006. I know that's when an ebay dealer named Big Ed's had a Plank up for auction, and I was the underbidder on it. I took out a loan at my credit union for $16K to try for the card, only to end up as the underbidder. To this very day, I'm still kicking myself in the gluteous maximus for not going any higher, especially considering how that card has risen in price ever since

Here's another scan I have of yet another 150 series Plank:

The Hunt card is almost undoubtedly hand cut, here is the card sans slab.

Scott, given that we've only seen a few 150 backs slabbed with numbers, and at least one of those shouldn't have been, is it possible that all of them were carefully hand-cut? Perhaps none actually made it to distribution?

No, I think many were distributed, there are enough with uniform factory cuts and nice even wear to think otherwise. Some of the AUT's are actually trimmed and not hand cut, others appear to be handcut.

And it would make no sense for the 150's to be unissued and the 350's distributed, it would have been the other way around, I would think.

It appears to have been reslabbed and sold in 2010 for $17,500 through eBay.

The guy wants to sell this current one, so I'm guessing it shows up somewhere else soon.

Do we have relative population numbers for the tougher T206's (Wagner,Plank,Magie,Doyle,Demmitt St.L,O'Hara St.l) ?

Vegas Guy - me too!!

I was thinking last week if I won the Powerball, all three of those cards would be in my collection. I would guarantee it!!

But since I didn't win, I'll just sit here and drool all over my keyboard.
