Dealer at a show today told me the new book, i was led to believe SCD has the Cobb Bat-Off shoulder more valuable than the Green Portrait now? Can someone confirm this and why? |

A bat off could be worth more if its back is Drum, Uzit, Broadleaf, or Red Hindu... or if it is in great shape. (Ha, 5 two letter words in a row!) Or, if the green portrait is ragged. Generally, Cobbs with bat off are encountered much more frequently than green portrait Cobbs. Mark has told you correctly. |

Why would you buy/rely on a written price guide when VintageCardPrices.com has real time prices? |

The green portrait is now and always will be the most valuable of the four T206 Cobb poses for the simple reason that it is the toughest to find. |

I'm a bibliophile. I'd rather buy one guide a year and pay attention rather than subscribe to an online service. Online services can be manipulated, with 2 or 3 different identity sellers and a few shill buyers... I can look at a guide without getting online, or even near a computer. I have greater faith in a guide and my judgment than I have in an online service. I could go on... That is why for me. |

The 2008 Standard Catalog does show the green background lower than both bat/on and bat/off in NM, though it retains its superiority in EX and VG |

I can see a dispute over the bat on/off versions but both are easier than the green. Odd pricing structure in the SC to say the least. |

Another factor which makes the GREEN Cobb tougher is the fact that the majority of them are PIEDMONT 150's; |
