Anyone that loves those great panoramic shots of old ballparks and teams, you have to check this out. The number of photos in here is just incredible. Lots of shots from the Deadball Era and World Series from the first 10 ten years. |

Everyone NEEDS to check this site out - do a search on baseball for some stunning stadium, team and game photos from very early in the 20th century - really incredible photos from a long bygone era. |

Interestingly, most of these photos are in the public domain and are not subject to copyright or the LOC puts the copyright issue in your hands. You are able to download massive TIF files which are suitable for high quality printing. Many of these photos are routinely sold on ebay without credit to the LOC, but the LOC apparently doesn't mind. |

The 1904 pan of the Polo Grounds is just 40 years before I saw my first baseball game there. |

Thanks for the link! Those were great! I also found the pics of 1920s beauty pageants quite entertaining. |

I'd be interested in learning how to print them out myself. I haven't tried to print one yet, but you look around in your printer settings and see what you can do. Lee and I just got a brand new photo quality printer, so if I can figure out how print these out, I plan on hanging a few on the wall. |

I'm still trying to figure out how to get a full 8 1/2 x 11 print out. |

Great link Jay. The Library of Congress site is probably my favorite on the web. If you have a moment (i.e. if you're at work), check out the early Thomas Edison films. They're unbelievable. There's even one of some baseball action ("The Ball Game"), as well as longer clips of college football games, a hockey match, parades, a chain gang, an egg rolling contest, bicycle tricks, etc. |
