It does look like a soldier carrying a flag. Looks like a stamp though, not printing. The writing is probably period but nothing a printer would include. Call it "period era " scribble. |

It looks to me that the ink used for the numbers is the same as that for the soldier. Hard to tell, though. If so, it would be a drawing rather than ghost. |
