Early Mets 10K gold medallion?
I wonder if anyone knows what this is from? It's marked 10K, and it feels heavy enough that that's probably right. Something with a third of an ounce of gold in it was maybe not a normal souvenir.
A similar example is on eBay where it is described as a Mets inaugural pendant. I'm not sure the seller knows what they're talking about, though. Does anyone recognize what this really is? 22.9 grams, 28.7 mm

Supposedly made by Josten in 1962 per these listings, however I also saw more references that they were made by Balfour and I 100% think that’s the true maker. Two versions currently listed, looks like the bail was broke off yours.
