Happy to pick this up! With Fein's 'Babe Bows Out' photo now $40-50K (an early type 2 even sold in Heritage for $18.6K a few months ago) think the Harris version 'Farewell to #3' is way undervalued.

I picked this pinback up the last week of March.
Edit: What do you think of Huggins and Scott auctions? I've never used them before. Last edited by edtiques; 04-01-2024 at 06:28 PM. |

1946 Feller All-Stars Program. Based on the images available for the item, it seems that Paige was playing with a different team than he played for most of the series. Based on my research the closest I have found is the game on Oct 16, 1946 at Wrigley Field in LA, which would mean it was one of the later games in the series, but I will need the program in hand to confirm (as I do not have the opposing lineup and it is not a perfect match).
The second item is not a sports item, but is something I find super cool. It is an original drawing by Garth Williams, who illustrated Charlotte's Web, Stuart Little and the Little House of the Prairie books among many others. I have a few Little House on the Prairie original illustrations and when this hit eBay, I decided that as long as the price remained reasonable, I would love to have it. |

+1. In 40+ years all kinds of dealings with them, I was never aware of any kind of shenanigans with House of Cards/Huggins and Scott. REA's reputation speaks for itself. There are others, but those two are right at the top of the game.

So, back in the 60's, when Gaylord Perry was putting up 10 years of a sub 3.00 ERA, he needed a side gig in the off season. These days, he'd be making about $25M per year.

Jeff, great Ruth photo! I didn't know there was another photographer near Fein who took a similar shot. Is there more to the story? Very cool. Your photo collection is stellar.

Super excited to share my most recent pick up. Was one of my white whales. This is the first item I posted about raising funds for on my BST posts.
This ticket is from Dec 23, 1979 of the NY Rangers vs Boston Bruins at MSG. The significance of the game is that it's the game where almost the entire Bruins teams went into the stands to fight the fans. I have been searching for a copy for a loooooong time. While I am not a big ticket collector, I am a longtime Ranger fan who happened to watch the game on TV as it happened. It's one of my most fun and crazy memories watching games back then. Below is a video of the incident. For those interested, an entire copy of the game is one YouTube as well. https://youtu.be/6tkx8Tbovdw?si=dFKVDN1B2PNXwAAF ![]() Sent from my SM-F946U using Tapatalk

Not acquired in April, but finally got around to properly scanning a recent pickup - this panoramic of the 1930 Old Timer's Day. Some legends in this image. From the Roger Bresnahan estate.

I picked up this 1961 placemat to go with my 1964. I don't know what possesses people to save paper for 63 years, but I'm glad someone did.

Happy to win this incredible lot of 19 original Frank Smith slides plus one cracked glass slide of Speaker/Covaleski. Looking forward to seeing the 8x10 prints. The Naps team photo has Joe Jackson and now I am on the hunt to find the original paper with the article that is included. If anyone won the other lots and wants to sell some slides please let me know

Giants plaque, likely from the 1970s? Seems like just a regular item, but I've heard from fellow Giants collectors who have never seen it. A quick Worthpoint search revealed a Pirates version, but none for other teams. The seller told me he also has White Sox. It's 11 x 16. Undecided about removing the wrapping. On the one hand, the original packaging makes it very original. On the other, it might display better without it.

Just stumbled on this one from eBay. Fragile condition but not often does a program from April 17th, 1947 come up for sale. Jackie Robinson’s first MLB hit (a bunt single to third) and Duke Snider’s MLB debut. Jackie’s debut on Opening Day drew about 26k, but the follow-up only had about 10k in attendance. Today is the 77th anniversary!
