How'd everybody do?

I picked up a handful of intriguing postwar oddball items for relatively modest prices, but nothing to get too excited about.

And I'm moderately pleased that the prices for the items I picked up didn't get to crazy levels. Hopefully others had some success as well.

I was blown away at the price of the Authentic Satchel Paige. I get it is a tough card to track down, but $13k for a "unique fixer-upper" seems a little steep!!

It does seem like when markets get a little frothy, then there can be some "compression", when people wanting to get in tend to bid up the items at the bottom of the market.

Certainly at times the housing market has seemed that way, with entry-level homes getting bid up so much that the price per square foot on those entry level homes gets a little ludicrous compared to the prices per square foot on mid-level homes.

That bottom of the market is where I live, "frothy" market indeed, I am not used to seeing such big numbers on my "well loved gems"!

I was happy what I paid for this one (in 2019), which has 3 sides less than the one that sold yesterday, so if my math is right, at $3k per side that would make mine worth $1600?!

I won one photo from REA and two from RMY Auctions the night before so I'd say it was a successful weekend.

I rarely play in the major auctions, but since I actually won something, I figured I’d share.

I made some good progress on my T222 set with a couple tough short prints and a HOFer.

I was blown away with the SGC3 Green Cobb price.

I picked up a few small items and lost out in the end on the t206 speaker psa 2 and beautiful 1954 sgc 1 Aaron RC. Wow on those prices..

Auctions, like card shows, are all about rarity or beautiful low grades. The T206 Cobbs are down I’ve noticed. Probably going to continue to drop IMO.

I was interested in the Leaf Newhouser that was missing a corner and had some other issues, but it ended up higher than I was hoping. It's a tough card so I guess I wasn't too surprised even in it's condition.

T206 portrait for my HOF portraits run.

Really nice low grade Petey for my HOF RC run.

And this nice little Goudey Premium R309-1 for the PC.

someone came in hot on these two in final bidding and they quickly went from a great price to me paying a bit too much. My 1st AB back, and an "elite 12". I just learned about the latter and seems like a nice addition of an 'exotic common' in my 520 run.

The back of that 63T Rose must horrible or I can't see how that's a PR 1. Nice pickup.

I managed to pick up a few things. I'm pretty pleased with the Callahan Chandler. Other than the DiMaggio, I think it's the toughest card in the set.

It has a red mark/paper loss on the back. I absolutely love how the front presents and really have found it hard to cough up $ for his RC, so this one fit the bill for my HOF RC run.

Nice Turkey! I really enjoy seeing a 1 with great eye appeal. My T3 collection is built on them! Thank you, pinhole, for keeping the cost down.
