Help - raw Cobb look legit or no?
Hello all
I made a connection with another collector who just asked my opinion about the authenticity of this Cobb - I am no expert but know we have many here! Thoughts about this one? He said it’s an auction from government surplus/seizure Thx for your advice…. Personally, no way would I trust it to be real without being graded or authenticated. Your thoughts?? Thx! Jeff |

it's not authentic, the Red Cobb wasn't printed with a 150 back.

No shot that is real!
The front is blurry and appears artificially aged, IMO.

I could be wrong, but I believe that little black dot/burn looking mark is something found on t206 reprints.

I can't believe I'm an adult who's not asking this question about a place on his arm...
Does anyone have any more details on the dot? This'll help id repros and repros-turned-fakes.

I understand that not all reprints are this easy to figure out...but really...this is the best first step! It is 100% not real if the original wasn't printed with the back in question.

Thanks, Justin and Ryan.
The Piedmonts, Sweet Caps, and dots in different location answer what I'm getting at in that we have to be wary of bleaching in any location for this particular publication. Easy when it's in-hand, but pictures of stuff being sold aren't always at the resolution I'd like. Even seemingly decent, non-blurry pictures.
