Default Sleeves necessary for graded cards

I have bought some graded cards for a couple of player collections that I have started, but I don't have much history with graded cards. My question is about the sleeves for graded cards. Do most of you use them? Are they primarily meant to protect against scratches? I enjoy looking at my cards and the slabbed ones definitely look better without the sleeves. Just trying to determine if they are necessary.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

I use them for SGC only because the holders scratch if you so much as look at them, but not for PSA.

It's a good idea to use them. Slabs will get scratches on them. I didn't use them very much in my previous collection but am doing it more with my new one, especially the more valuable cards. You can always stack them in sleeves and take them out to look at them. That is what I do now but admittedly I don't have a lot to do.

These are what I am currently looking for for my 52 Topps cards.

Only problem is, I can't find them up here in Canada and getting them shipped, with duty, tx's and the exchange rate makes them rather expensive!

I, personally, based on what little I know, think these would serve me best and provide the best protection for storage and viewing.

I have bought some raw cards in holders like those before. But for graded, I doubt they would work well, unless they make another type.

LOL. In my haste to try and locate some locally, or even somewhere in Canada, I didn't realize the OP was just looking for sleeves to go over his already slabbed cards.

Thanks for pointing out the error, Leon.

I use them for all graded cards. I like my slabs clean and scratch free.
