Default Help identifying this guy on a metal oddball?

I picked these up recently at a show...I'll do my best to explain what they are. They are metal, each approximately 3 inches high and 2 inches wide. They are approx. 2 mm thick and not malleable. They have a textured finish to them. The umpire is labeled in writing on the back as Ed Vargo but I'm not positive who's on the left (I need help with this too). My best guess is that they were cut from printing plates for a magazine or a newspaper, but I honestly have no idea.

EDIT: Seems these are indeed mag/paper printing plates, but I still need to know who the guy on the left is. Any help?

Any ideas?

On the right? Umpire Ed Vargo. Not sure of the left.
